Dearest Reader,
How’s it going out there? I’m back at home forcing myself to get rest. I have a brief 10 days off and then I’m flying to Winnipeg for the Folk Fest. We play right before Gillian Welch, who quite obviously has been a musical hero of mine. I am just as excited to see her set as I am to play.

We had a sweet little tour with Greg Mendez and I’m excited to pick it back up with him starting at our two sold out nights at Old Town School of Folk in Chicago on July 17th and 18th. Everywhere I go now I am humming a Greg tune to myself, his songs feel pure to me and grow with you.
Highlight Reel:

Major shout out to the folks in Door County who put on our last show of the June run, it felt like a mini vacation to walk around sleepily, take a peek at the bay, eat a delicious meal and crawl back into bed in my peaceful suite and binge some Love Island UK (I’m brushing up on season 5.)

I’m starting up Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange again, when I first got it last year I was in between my move to Chicago. I began reading then, but life got hectic and now feels like the perfect time. This is a part of why I love to buy books (as much as I love the library) it’s a joy to gather up what catches my eye on my travels and to months later scan my bookshelves and feel out what is calling to me at the moment.
Someone made me this adorable bracelet and handed it off to Nnamdi at the merch table and I honestly shed a tear it’s so sweet. Thank you to whoever made this I love it!!
Mandatory home coming meal at Duck Duck Goat. The Duck fried rice is insane!!! I am also binge watching the new season of The Bear and it’s making me want to dine like a mad man. This season gets better by the episode IMHO.
Finally I saw Titanique here in Chicago and it was batshit crazy, campy and hilarious. Everything I needed while we live in the hellscape of our current world! Thank goddess for the theater!!
That’s all folks, I love you, take care of yourself. Playlists for July are behind the paywall, enjoy and
don’t take any shit!!!!!
