Dearest Reader,
In a few hours I’ll be hopping on a plane and off into the wild blue of the West Coast. Our tour starts tomorrow in Santa Cruz at the Rio, and I’m nervous with excitement. As you can see Summer tickets are flying and all I can say is thank you x million.
I’m sending you the cover song for the month before I head out, and I decided on one of John Prine’s last songs “I Remember Everything.” I’ve been thinking about John Prine, as I’m oft to do. Though I did not know him personally, his songs are my constant companion. This one strikes me, to say you remember everything, so bold, impossible and so beautiful. There’s a long view gratitude in that statement as this was towards the end of his life.

My memory has been spotty for decades, as I spent much of my young life detaching from the chaos around and inside me. These days I feel more present than ever, as if I’ve come home to my body. Thankfully, the support around this project of mine is growing alongside that process, and what a gift is all I can say.
My memory is now returning back online and I too want to remember all of this.
Take care of each other and
don’t take any shit
