  • Summer tour starts Friday! Stoked to travel with Greg Mendez, play a show with MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee, and some sweet festivals. See you out there.

Dearest Reader,

How are you? It’s been Pride, Puerto Rican Fest in Chicago, and No Kings protests all at once. Such a flurry of tremendous energy amidst so much struggle and heartbreak. I have been holding on tight to simple pleasures, riding my bike on sunny days, listening to Bad Bunny on blast, and eating strawberries from the farmer’s market.

Scene from Puerto Rican fest in Chicago, it rules. I love it here.

This weekend I went to see national treasures Jeff Hiller and Murray Hill of HBO’s Somebody, Somewhere (RIP to the best show ever) speak about Hiller’s new memoir, as part of the Chicago Humanities Festival. It was so desperately what I needed, sweet yet raunchy, hilarious and heartfelt. I would like to get to a beach soon so I can read this book in one sitting.

I’ve been watching frothy television to calm my nerves, Overcompensating is fun and I really enjoy how you have no idea what year it is. And Just Like That is a total shitshow that I am honestly just hate watching!

Not much else to report here, so I will leave you with the monthly cover, The Beast in Me by Nick Lowe. I heard this for the first time some nights ago and listened to it on repeat while looking out at the pink full moon. What masterful songwriting. Hope you enjoy.
